Warrior of the Light
Ellora's Cave

A fiery burst of light in the night sky signals a new life for Dani March, but at the moment her main concern is what to do about the wolf-like dog that has jumped into the backseat of her convertible. It's Halloween and weird things often happen.

Falon doesn't know why he was summoned to Earth, but the beautiful woman who placed the call has this shapeshifter licking his chops.

Dani's inadvertent request for a big bad wolf makes for an interesting and erotically charged night. A dog can change into a time-jumping warrior, fables can be true and one's earthly existence is the real fantasy.

Driving her compact convertible with only the sky above her, the radio blasting and the wind whipping her long, curly hair, Dani March sang along with her favorite band. Fingers tapping on the wheel, Dani resisted the urge to push the speed limit. Thin clouds slid across a full moon, but the warm days of Indian summer had lasted longer than expected and instead of a chilly All Hallows Eve, the air was delightfully crisp. The perfect night for a party!

The thrill of anticipation shot through her. Something wonderful was coming her way. Dani could feel it, sense it. Her thoughts turned to Adam.

Several of her female co-workers were hot for the new and very good-looking marketing director and Dani knew she had fierce competition, but Adam had confided to her he'd rented a wolf costume for the party. Acting on that information, Dani had spent the day finding a low-cut, scoop-necked white blouse and the cutest, shortest red skirt. Using a couple yards of red material, she'd sewn a cape. A pair of red boots and a basket filled with treats had completed her costume.

What would Adam think when he opened the door?

Dani glanced up at the moon. "Trick or treat. I want a big bad wolf."

If a sexy Little Red Riding Hood costume didn't attract the big, bad wolf, what would?

Rounding a curve, Dani screamed at the huge ball of red flames bursting directly in front of her.

"Holy crap!"

A dark shape shot out of the flaming circle, coming directly at her. Ducking her head, Dani gripped the wheel and slammed on the brakes. The car swerved, the rear end skidding, sliding wildly to the right, stopping sideways in the middle of the road.

Thump! The thing landed in the backseat.

Heart pounding, mouth dry, Dani stared into the rearview mirror. Two large cinnamon-colored eyes looked back at her. Eyes surrounded by dark fur. Fear fisting her heart, Dani twisted around.

Long ears. Whiskered snout. "Oh God!"

She tried to swallow. A large wolf-like dog sat in her backseat, shaking its head.
